Change the Race Ratio respond to the latest Parker review

Targets have delivered progress. Syreeta Brown, Vice Chair, Change the Race Ratio, comments on the latest data published by the Parker review.

"We’ve come a long way since 2020 when the Parker Review introduced the target for FTSE250 business to have at least one ethnic minority board director by the end of 2024.  In 2020 just 55 out of the 250 businesses had an ethnic minority director on their board.

Thanks to the good work of the Parker review and our work at Change the Race Ratio to champion the reviews ambitions, 204 businesses in the FTSE250 now have at least one ethnic minority board director. We’ve made progress but we have more work to do.

At a time when DEI is under attack, this report serves as a timely reminder of the need for better and continued action to create inclusive workplaces where everyone can do their best work, which I’m sure we can all agree is good for business and critical for economic growth."
